Never Enough Time

Let me be that extra set of eyes, ears, and hands you need to move your photography business to the next level. I can help free up your time so you can focus more on your talents and passions...whatever they may be!

You’ve got all those raw images waiting for you, but you haven’t had time to get to them. Why? Because you’ve spent the last several hours, perhaps even days, wading through your inbox, returning calls, tagging photos, checking social media, invoicing clients, scheduling your next trip, writing your next blog post, and more! Those admin tasks must be done but you despise working on them.

All the while your camera sits on your shelf, staring at you longingly…

Allow me to take those boring admin tasks off your plate!

Then you can get back to doing what you love! We can start off slow…pass me a few of the low hanging fruit, like travel arrangements or blog editing. Then once you get to know me better, we can talk about other things I can do to help take your photography business to the next level.

What is a Virtual Assistant?

...and why do I need one?

A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a part-time personal assistant, working from a remote office, that can help you with everything from mundane administrative tasks to mission critical projects.

I offer MANY advantages as a Virtual Assistant for Photographers!

  • Far less expensive than a full-time employee. No employee-related taxes, insurance, benefits, or expenses.
  • You only pay me for the hours you think you’ll need. There is no long-term commitment.
  • I have a Type-A, task-oriented personality. I get stuff done.
  • I’m a creative entrepreneur and amateur photographer.
  • I’m already familiar with most of the tasks and tools that are a daily part of your business.

How It Works

How It Works

Getting to know you

The first thing we have to do is have a chat to see what you're looking for...I'd like to think that I'm the right person for everyone, but I may not be...we won't know that until we take some time to get to know each other. We’ll set up a time for an introductory call to discuss your needs. These first conversations are free and do not obligate you to hire me. I prefer to use Google+ Hangouts or Skype for these meetings because they provide the ability to meet face-to-face, but I am also willing to just have a regular old phone call. During these initial conversations I’ll take some time to find out more about you, your photography style, and your business. Prior to our call I will spend a little time learning what I can about you from your website, social media sites, and any publications/vendor sites where you may have been mentioned.  I’m sure you’ll have questions for me as well, so don't feel awkward about coming into our meeting with a list of questions for me. From there, I’ll put together a proposal of how I can help you!

determining how much help you need

Usually by the end of our first call, I have a pretty good idea of how many hours your projects might require, but ultimately the decision is yours. You can reserve my time in blocks of hours each month.  For example, you can start with as little as 10 hours the first month. I’ll keep you up-to-date as we go along and let you know if I’m close to running out of time. You can always add on a few extra hours if needed or increase your budget the following month. (See my pricing page for more information.)

when you're ready to begin

I’ll send you a service agreement. Once the agreement has been signed, I'll send an invoice for you to make the first payment. All blocks of time must be paid in advance. I’ll begin work after payment has been received. The service agreement is month-to-month with no long-term commitment.

assigning me tasks

I'll keep track of my tasks for each of your projects in my CRM. All you need to do is to communicate to me what you want done and if there's a deadline. This can either be via email, live calls, or even through messaging services like Facebook Messenger or Google Hangouts. If I get verbal instructions from you, I'll do my best to send an email clarifying what I think you want me to do.

maintaining confidentiality

It may be necessary to share sensitive information with me in the course of working with you. Please be assured that I will treat your private business and personal information with the greatest of care. Particularly sensitive items, such as usernames and passwords, will never be stored electronically. Should there come a time that our working relationship ends, any documentation with personal identifying information will be destroyed.

Reserving my time

Depending on how many hours we agree to each month, I'll give you a couple of free hours; this little bit of extra time is to account for the learning curve we'll have in beginning our working relationship. I encourage you to use all of the contracted hours within 30 days of the payment date.

Hiring me part-time is far less expensive than a full-time employee. Plus there are no employee-related taxes, insurance, benefits, or expenses. You only pay me for the hours you think you’ll need. There is no long-term commitment.

Why Choose Me?

Just a little something about me...

I'll be finding out an awful lot about you in the near future, so I think it's only fair that you find out a little something about me! I was raised a good Southern girl who calls Queenstown, New Zealand home for now. Why New Zealand, you ask? I'll tell you every time, "Why not?" A few years ago, my husband and I decided that we no longer wanted to live to work...we wanted to work to live! I started this company so that I could travel the world at his side. What an adventure it's been!

"To travel is to take a journey to yourself" - Danny Kaye

So, why choose me?

Over the past 20 years I've been a manager, teacher, an administrative assistant, an office manager, and an executive assistant to several C-level employees. Detailed, "Type-A" kind of work has been a defining characteristic of my career. I thrive in situations where things just have to get done - and done right. I won't say I'm a perfectionist...but, when the shoe fits...

I have a diverse background that includes everything from creative writing, sales presentations, training materials, and business reports. I’ve managed large teams, full and part-time employees, student organizations, and hundreds of volunteers. I’ve created and managed six figure budgets, negotiated supply and service contracts, and served corporate executives. I have excellent written and oral communication skills that will be invaluable as I partner with you to create content for your business. I’ve created a wide variety of online content using Wikis, blogs, and content management systems, such as WordPress and SquareSpace. I also know basic HTML and CSS, so I’m able to do most web updates.

I understand both the creative and business sides of photography. Being an amateur photographer myself, I know that finding time for your creative side can be challenging when there are so many other important business-related tasks that have to be done. I have experience with many of the tools that photographers use daily — blogs, social media, portfolios, CRMs, bookkeeping, and more.
